Development panel umpire promoted to A-grade matches

Congratulations to Chris Hawtone on being promoted to umpiring A-grade men's matches. Chris is a year 10 St. Virgils School student who plays for the Canterbury Hockey Club. Despite being just 16 years of age, he's already established an impressive umpiring resume.

Among his achievements to date, are receiving the Hockey South (Margaret McCormick) Umpiring Award in 2004 and umpiring the 2005 A-reserve grade grand final. In addition, he has just been appointed by Hockey Tasmania to on the umpiring panel for the National U12's championship to be held in Melbourne in September 2006.
