Call for Umpires & Technical Officials for 2007 season

Hockey South invites officials to apply for selection to the A-pool officiating panel for the 2007 hockey season.

A-pool officials are umpires, technical officials and match managers who officiate at the A grade and/or A-reserve grade levels of competition conducted by Hockey South in Tasmania. Umpires control the match play and adjudicate the rules of the game. Technical officials are responsible for ensuring compliance with the technical and organisational aspects of the game and supervise match managers. Match managers are responsible for recording events during the game, and for acting as timekepers for the match.

A high level of performance and commitment is expected, and selection as an A-pool official is based upon the Hockey South A-pool officials selection policy, which includes practical performance standards and training based selection criteria. Hockey South offers regular training courses for officials to national standards aimed at those persons wishing to begin as umpires or technical officials.
