U16 Girl’s Australia Wide Hockey Carnival
29th August 2005
This carnival will be held in Hobart from 26th September to 1st October, and provides an opportunity for girls to enjoy the game of hockey in a carnival atmosphere. This carnival is not conducted along state lines, but rather individual clubs, regions or cities from all round Australia are able to compete with development and enjoyment, as key components. 14 teams will participate in a round robin format.
Hockey South is very grateful to Sue and Eddie Carmichael, Marg Anning, Jenny Geeves, Janine Pickett, Kaye Woodham, Stephen McMullen and Jo Traynor for comprising the Carnival organizing Committee.
Junior Girls club co-ordinators have been volunteering their time to arrange selections, teams and officials in addition to their “normal” responsibilities and I am sure all involved will be afforded the support they deserve from parents, players and the broader hockey community.
From within Tasmania we will see a team from Launceston and another from the Northwest Coast. Two teams have been selected from southern clubs, Hobart Wellington and Hobart Salamanca and congratulations and our best wishes for a successful carnival are extended to the following girls:
