The redevelopment of the Tasmanian Hockey Centre is well and truly on track with completion today of the asphalt on THC2.
Also today LP6, the first of the 6 light poles, was erected with it's 15 new lights and new green paint job.
Activity is happening thick and fast at the centre at the moment with several contractors working under the main contractor Hazell Brothers.
The asphalt now needs a curing period before T.E.A.M Sports Surfaces can come and lay their Aquaturf surface. At this stage T.E.A.M are scheduled to arrive and commence work on or around February 23rd. The laying of the surface takes around 18 days.
THC1 is around 2-3 weeks behind THC2 because of certain issues faced during excavation as well as the need for bigger retaining walls to be built.
All is on track however for a March 31st completion date and April 14th season start.
Pictures of the project are now being regularly uploaded to the Hockey South Gallery section.
